Our History

The Stella House was built in 1954 by Stella and Fred Montoya. They owned and worked the American Laundry, which provided laundry services for the hotels in Flagstaff and Northern Arizona. The laundry was located on San Francisco and is now a retail store.


The house continues to be part of Stella and Fred’s family through their grandchildren and great grand children. The family are proud to offer the home as a vacation rental.

HOW TO ARRIVE

Directions

If you are coming from Phoenix, take I-17 north and follow the numerous “Flagstaff” signs. I-17 terminates in Flagstaff at its junction with I-40 and becomes Milton Road which in turn becomes Route 66 in downtown Flagstaff. This is the main artery through Flagstaff.

We stayed here with another family to make a total of 4 adults and 6 kids ages 2-11. It was perfect for our needs! Plenty of space, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and everything we needed. Our kids were very sad to leave and are already asking if we can come back. The hosts were fabulous and have thought of everything! Perfect central location.

We were two families travelling together, and the set up of this house was perfect for us -- one family stayed downstairs and shared one bathroom, and the other family stayed upstairs and shared the 2nd bathroom. While this is an "older" home (nothing negative or critical about that), it has been fabulously updated, and is THE CLEANEST VRBO I've ever stayed in -- it was meticulously clean! The kitchen was fully stocked with spices and oil and dishes and pans and anything (other than food, of course) that we needed! LOTS of extra towels and linens. The beds were comfortable, and the showers were amazing! The back patio was a lovely place to have coffee in the morning and offered extra space to sit and eat.

We would stay here over and over again if we were in the area, and I HIGHLY recommend it!!!
