GEOCACHING
Looking to add a little adventure to your next Route 66 road trip? Check out the Historic AZ 66 Geocaching Project, a high-tech treasure hunt that puts your GPS or smartphone in touch with boxes stashed along the historic drive. There are 50 caches on the route, including stops near the Petrified Forest and at Winslow’s La Posada hotel, downtown Flagstaff, and Kingman’s El Trovatore Motel, which just lit its neon sign for the first time in 50 years, inside each cache box are historic images, trivia, and logbooks to sign.

HIKING
The Flagstaff Urban Trail System (FUTS) offers 33 miles of well-maintained trails that offers hiking for all levels of fitness. The Coconino National Forest hiking trail map can be accessed at the following website:.

The turn off to Arizona Snowbowl, http://www.arizonasnowbowl.com/ is 7 miles north on Fort Valley/Hwy 180. Other locations for winter sports are available at the following website
